Annabelle Birnie

Annabelle Birnie was born in 1968 and has a distinguished career in art. After her studies at the University of Utrecht where she obtained her degree in art policy and management and her studies at the Institut d'Etudes Supérieures des Arts in Paris, she acquired her certificate as an EU(17025) Certified Valuer of Modern and Contemporary Art.

Birnie has been working for many years at renowned art galleries and institutions in Europe, including Sotheby's where she headed the modern and Contemporary Art Department in Amsterdam. She published numerous articles and catalogues on modern artists, and has been advisor to important private and institutional art collectors.

Current activities
Since the year 2003, Annabelle Birnie is Head Art Management ING Group and responsible for the procurement and maintenance of the ING Collection worldwide. Birnie started as senior curator of ING Art Management in the year 2000. The Art Advisory Service for Private Banking clients as part of the Art Management Department is a widely acknowledged and appreciated Service.
