Chaos Chen

Chaos Y. Chen was born in 1971 in Shanghai, China, and currently lives and works in Beijing. She founded CHAOSPROJECTS |VisualThinking in 2005. Prior to that, she was the Chief Curator at the Millennium Art Museum (Beijing). She as awarded Henry Luce Scholarship in 1998 and worked with The Asia Society (New York) between 1998~1999. In 2001, she recieved RAVE Stipendium from RAVE Foundation (Germany) and worked with KunstWerke Berlin and later Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin).

Her latest curatorial practices include Driving the Skyline (Frank O. Gehry, 2004), Pictures from the Surface of the Earth (Wim Wenders, 2004), body temperature (Contemporary Chinese Art, 2005), BeijingCase (Exhibition & Symposium, China & Germany, 2005), Mexican Modern (Beijing, 2006), and co-organizer of The 2nd Borderline Festival for Moving Images (Beijing, 2007). She is a contributor to the publications Reading, World of Art, Economic Oberser, BluePrint (London) etc.

She holds a Master's degree in Art History and Theory from the Nanjing Academy of Art.
